NEED TIRE ADVICE

I want to put some meaner tires on my 2000 V-10 F-250 regular cab 4X4 without having to install a lift kit. I was thinking about going with the BF Goodrich 285/75/16 Mud Terrains. Any opinions or recommendations would be appreciated.

NEED TIRE ADVICE

I have BFG All Terrain KO's,295/75/16, on my 99 sd sc 4x4.This size fits perfect on these trucks and looks so much better than the wimpy looking stockers. These tires are great in the rain and off-road. I use this truck alot on the beach and the tires are fantastic in the sand. I have had them on for about seven thousand miles and they are wearing like iron. Hope this helps.

I want to know more about those BFG 295/75/16's. Do you use stock rims or did you have to upgrade? How about the odometer, did you re-calibrate? I am also curious about whether you had to do a lift and last but not least, what was the impact to performance. I to am tired of the stock tires, they look like little cookie cutters. I can justify the price of new tires but if I have to buy new rims, the task gets expensive.

I am also running BFG 295/75-16's on my 99 SD 4X4. I changed to Weld Racing wheels in size 16x8. The combo looks and performs great. I have not done a lift to my truck ($) but I still might. It doesn't require it, but I don't like the nose low look.
I talked to a rep at Goodrich about running 295's on the 16x7 Ford wheels. He said that although I could do it, and it would work, I would run into severe wear problems (center section wearing before the outsides). I figured that at $185 per tire, I would probably break even in the long run if I upgraded my wheels. I'm glad I did.
