I want to convert SD EFI to MAF on a 92 F150. I wanted to know If all I need are the harnesses. I know I need a MAF meter but, I want to know if the computer is different or will the EECIV work for both systems. Thanks
If you are doing a custom swap, you need a main harness, an injector harness from a mustang, a MAF harness, MAF meter, and a computer. The computer is what makes it mass air or not. If you haven't seen this, you might want to take a gander: http://brembs.net/cars/maf_conversion/ . If you have the E4OD transmission, then this swap will not work, because the mustang computer doesn't control the transmission.
You can use a PCM from any of the 302 MA E4OD trucks/vans to control the tranny if that's the case.
I dont think this would work because the mustang harness and the truck/van harness would be different so the ecu wouldnt match up. Thats why the maf kit w/e4od costs $1500 bucks.

All EEC-IV's have the same harness. Pin locations are different between various computers, so it would take some custom wiring for sure. What Blurry is saying is get a stock truck mass air computer, and then go from there, because it will run the transmission, where a mustang computer won't. It's still mass air, but will run the tranny. It still will require custom wiring to wire the injectors sequentially and wire in a mass air meter, and possibly need to change the tad/tab pin positions as well. A lot of that is covered on that website I linked to in my previous post.

Thanks, I was planning on using a mass air truck computer if mine wouldnt work. So it could work with my original computer if I changed the pin connectors around.
EPNCSU, was the VEX1 from a 93 or 94 Mustang? I had it wrote down somewhere. I'll be getting it re-programmed in a few weeks, so I can check then if you dont know. My truck is going in on April 5 to get the 408 stroker put in it.
