Decode Vin Please?
Hello all, Vet around here, but new to this forum, just bought a 82 f150 4x4, auto tranny 302 motor its my wifes new project toy, I would like to have you decode the VIN for me and tell me what we got here, also what are possibilities and "most likely"(s) for transmission, Transfer case, and axles?
it sat for over a year and has some nasty gas in it, but once started it ran good, other than some carb hesitation issues, which have gotten better in the 30 mile drive home alone (new gas and some sea foam), so im going out to do a tuneup tonight, im sure it will make a world of difference, strong runner, she is excited

GVWR 5-6Klbs, 302V8 2bbl, F150. The tranny and axle codes should be on the sticker on the driver's side door jamb. The auto tranny is prolly a C-6 (code K). Front axle is Dana44 TTB and rear is prolly a Ford 9" if there's no cover plate bolted to the back of the rear axle. Gear ratios are stamped on the I'D. tags bolted to the center section of each axle, something like a 3.50 is common. Hope the wife lets you drive it once in a while!!!

She'll let me drive it. I help make the payment and just did a tune-up for her on her new toy at 11 at night, she loves me as much as I love her
