Just wanted to officially let everyone know whats been happening in my world.
I havent been posting much lately (but still reading) because My Dad is having some serious health problems, He was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma a year ago and went thru Chemo and radaition, finally after he got the cancer beat, his heart started giving him problems, they diagnosed him with Congestive heart failure around new years, he has been in and out of the hospital ever since. We finally got the results of his heart cath today and basically told us they cant really do anything else for him except make his final days more comfortable. He is supposed to be discharged maybe tomorrow or friday, basically sending him home to die on his own terms. Doc said he will be lucky to last a year, but from the way he looks I doubt it will take that long.
Im not one to bring my personal problems out in the public, but any prayers you can send his way would be helpful.
This is going to be one of the toughest things I will ever face, I love my Dad, and am very proud of him, he is the guiding force in my life and at times I hated him, but after I grew up I came to realize he did everything he did for my own good, and I truly truly appreciate it! I can only hope to pass these traits on to my own sons.
His current goal is to be well enough to come see his grandson play baseball, first game is march 30th, hope we can get him feeling better quick!
Dan,
Thanks! I know he HATES the hospital! He really isnt eating and when they try to bring him food he gets all mad at the nurses so coming home will be a big big relief to him.
Mitch, you know all our prayers are with you and your father. I went though that with my dad 10 years ago and I know what you are going though. If you need anything at all just say the word. Hang tough man there is a whole lotta of faith and prayers for the both of you.
Of course you have my prayers for you and your father. I went through something like that with my grandfather a few years back. He did like it better at home but it was one of the roughest things I have ever witnessed.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the words of support, Im not worried about me though, Its my Mom that I think will have a very hard time dealing with it, they have been together for almost 50 years now.
He did get to come home, which is a good thing, he seemed to be in better spirits.
Glad to hear that he is in better spirits. My mother passed away a few years back. We
knew it was coming, so that helped us deal with her death. My father took it fairly well, better than I thought he would. Maybe it was that he knows she is in a better place and not suffering anymore. Anyways, I know your pain and will be praying for you and your family.
Mitch
Your father ,mother ,and family are in our thoughts and prayers.
If there is anything you need please let us know.
You guys helped me alot when I lost Tim now it's my turn to help you.
I'm just a phone call away when you need to talk.
On top of everything else thats going on, I found out that my Baseball coaching buddy passed away last night from a stroke or anyeurism. Real shocker since I talked to him last night on the phone about coaching a group of 8 year olds. Our first practice was supposed to be tomorrow.
