Are there any consistant wear problems or otherwise with fleet vehicles? I am still in the market for a 250 or 350 with 7.3l diesel and seem to only be able to afford a truck with that kind of history. Thanks
I bought an ex fleet vehicle in September of 2000 with 137,000 miles on it. Currently 203,000 and rolling. I have had to do a couple repairs but the only major one was to replace the clutch two weeks after I bought it. Price was good enough I was not really upset (except that I learned about single mass flywheel conversions two weeks AFTER doing the job). Been a great truck.
Make sure you check the coolant for SCA levels - test strips available from International/Navistar in single packs for about a buck and a half. Part number should be OCC2602B. The instructions with the kit are easy to follow.
