First of all I hope that i am not beating a dead horse, buuutttt,
I am looking to increase my torque and or horsepower and stay with 87 octane fuel. I will be pulling about a 12,000 lb loaded trailer. I have a 2000 4x4 v10 4.30 limited slip gear ratio Excursion.
What chip do you guys recommend and if you guys know any of the "true" spec please share them. such as hp increases or torque increases in rpm range
Again i really only use my "X" for towing not speed!!!
What you're asking for isn't possible with a chip or tuner. The horsepower and torque benefit comes from reprogramming for premium fuel. An 87 octane tune would give a very slight increase at WOT (not enough to really notice on that heavy truck) and firm up the transmission shifting.
I think you need to let your engine breathe better with an air induction system and a free flow exhaust system. Then get a good mechanical shift kit installed on your transmission (a Transgo or Superior). The V10 should give you all the umph you need and the transmission could then take it like a man.
