Hit a wall

Does anyone know how high you can lift an excursion before you have to replace the drive shaft? I am in the process of lifting my X a bit more and it appears that the front drive shaft is too short and is preventing the leafs from aligning with the shackles. The front right went on no problem but the front left....! The truck was already has 4" of suspension lift and I am trying to lift it another 2.5. Any information would be greatly appriciated as my truck is in pieces.

Yes I have a 8" BDS suspension lift and both my shafts are fine. The rear is a little short, but i'm not doing any hardcore wheeling so I think it will be fine. I have heard of guys putting 8" fabtech lifts needing to lengthen their fronts, I think its all in the vehicle tho.
