what could i expect

i found an 89 250 for sale locally (from a friend) with the 7.3 and 5 speed, i dont know what it has in the axles(4x4) for gears but it does run good, has been taken good care of and all that. but i was wondering what i could epect for gas mileage if i got it a ram air (of a homemade design) with a k&N, punched out the catalytic converters and put a glasspack in for the muffler, and ran it on biodiesel (we just got a place that sells it!), and what would it change if i put 33's or 35's on it?

Well, there's no converters to punch, so glasspack away!

I would ask him what he is getting now, you may be able to add a mile or two per gallon by opening up the air intake and exhaust.
A three inch exhaust all the way back is lots better than just glass packs.
Gears are probably 3.55 or 4.10.
33's work good without worring about rubbing.

I had a few years ago a 88 4x4 f-250 with 33's 4.10's no turbo with dual 2.5's, I got about 15-17 depending on how I drove.

I now have a f-350 cc 4x4 with ATS 3" exhaust with stock 235/85/16's and 4.10's and am getting 12-15, rush hour traffic really brings down the mpg
