I was given my grandfathers 1986 ford ranger. I turned sixteen and last summer i was looking for a vehicle. When my grandfather turned to me and said would you like my truck i was instantly sold (Yet i didnt have to pay for it) So last august we pulled it out of the garage where it had been kept for most every winter it has seen and part of the summer. It had alot of dirt and grime but after a few days cleaning it turned out pretty nice. We have had to replace the rusted out tyrod but that was minor compared to most older cars needs. It has 68 thousand miles on it and runs about 16 to 20 miles per gallon. Ohh and now im seventeen with a ford ranger truck
NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS HAPPY
Im asking for some opinions on what i should do to modify my truck.
Im thinking of:
1. dropping the suspension like my uncles s10 which looks really nice
2. adding clear tail lights if i can find some
3. a tarpol cover
4. a 12 inch sub
5. a new paint job by my uncle who is an awesome painter which will paint it black with its original color canyon red stripes down the center
6. and add some cheap 15 or 16 inch wheels that will fit my new tires, even if used
I have figured out how much i could save with my uncles help and it shouldnt cost too much money.
Welcome to FTE Angie! Congratulations on your truck. You are a lucky girl. I'd say go for whatever you like since it is your ride. Style is an individual choice and while I am not a fan of lowered trucks, if that is what you want go for it! When it comes to technical advise those here at FTE are as good as it gets. If you have tech or mechanical questions then the folks at FTE are experts.
sounds good angie about the paint and rims i tend to avoid lowering things and well im beyond needing a big stereo system but youll find the ranger will run forever if you take care of it good luck with it!
