I have a 2001 4x4, 4 door. I have always heard that 4x4's are likely to start cupping in the front. Is this true? I put 45K on the original RT/S and they were slightly more worn on the inside. Now I have MIchelins that are also slight more worn on the inside.
Is this a 4x4 issue or an allignment/suspension issue?
Sounds like your camber could be a little off. Does it look something like /--o-\ (looking from the front)? Not a big deal. An alignment shop can take care of it for you.

On edit let me ask this ,explain your cupping ?
is it a situation where if you run your hand along the side of the tread pattern towards the front of the truck you have steps from tread to tread .
or is a even wear pattern on outside edge/
Bad ball joints an shocks will cause the first problem
as stated alignment will handle the second one

I had the same problem with my 97 XLT, and it was cured with new Bilsteins. I wasted $60 on Gabriels from Pep Boys before I solved the problem with the Bilsteins. If memory serves me I got them from Turner Motorsport on the net. Good luck.
