Bad Starter ?
hey guys, need some help.
88' F150 351w auto c6.
Every 3rd or 4th time I try to start the truck, I get a whining noise from the starter (least I think it is the starter).
I turn the key off, let it whine down, try it again and it might start or I get the loud whining noise again.
Doesn't matter if its cold or hot.
Its like the starter gear is not engaging to crank the engine.
Could it be bad brushes in the starter?
Any ideas on what to start with?
