Mustang Fastback

Hey all. Well I am selling my truck (its a 68 f100, and in my gallery if you wanna look at it.) But thats not the reason for this post...

I was planning on getting a fastback mustang in the near future. 67,68, or a 69. Well, after looking into them some, it seems that the price on these cars are VERY high! Why is it that the fastback is so expensive compared to other muscle cars in that era? I want one soooo bad. It would be my dream to have one w/ a body kit, and 40 series flowmasters

I had a 72 Mustang Grande Notchback, with a 351c, that I bought for $500. An AZ car, really nice body, just needed an engine and interior. My mother made me sell it, the guy only offered me $400, and of that I only saw $50. I am still mad at her.........

Cool

The main reason that the '67-'68 Fastbacks are so high right now is that lots of folks are grabbing them up to make them into Eleanors from the new gone in 60 seconds.
You might want to try looking for a '65-'66 Fastback, there are still some out there to be had for a somewhat good price.

Carroll Shelby is making Elenor mustangs himself. He's also making 'continuation' GT350R's out of old 68-69 fastbacks.

I personally would like a 66 Fastback. Don't have to be a Shelby, just a fastback. Well, not even a fast back. But it has to be a 66. Even a 65 if I can find one. I don't care if it needs a lot of work either.

I think 66 Fastbacks are SWEET. I don't know why I want a 66 so bad, but I figure 65's are a bit hard to come by. 66's are basically the same, and a bit easier to find. So there I go.

yeah that scene in 'gone' was pretty cool.....but not as cool as the orginal movie. That car was BAD! too bad it gets torn to pieces. crj900, there are lots of sick muscle cars out there. buick gs stage 1 455 is pretty good. very low key beast and largely unknown to the masses. just gotta get out there and hunt.

I forgot we're supposed to help you choose a car. Well, if I were you and can't get a Mustang fastback, I'd choose a 66 Chevelle SS. Nicest GM IMO.

The new Shelby American G.T. 500E "Eleanor" available in several configurations is why we are losing the 67/68 fastbacks to be butchered up and sold for an idiotic amount of money. As for the G.T.350SR it is a modernized and very badass update on the G.T.350 platform using the 65/66 Mustang fastbacks. Also sold for an idiotic price.
