Hey guys
Sorry about no respond,
Basically they changed the fluid and no diffrence, the noise still there. Basically the problem is in the front diffrential, the gears are wear off and they make grinding noise, when you step off the gas it becomes louder because there is no force on the gears, that is the symptom of bad diffrential, with time it will get worse you will get sort of vibration which some of you already have.
Sorry guys
thats what i get i get a vibration on the right side and my front right wheel is all over the place.mine to gets louder when i step off the gas it only does that in 4x4 but the bounching front right tire is all the time and its not my shocks.man the grinding sound i get when im in 4 wheel is loud as heck.i was wondering droff do you have oversized tires at all on your truck?I gotta get mine fixed though i was just wondering how much money ill have to pay . Unless i can get a buddy of mine to fix it but i doubt it.why did they only change the fluid?sounds like they didnt wanna fix it for some reason to me.It may be the hub though too i hope thats all it is.

I do not have oversized tires
Although they might fix it I do not know after the oil change there was still noise but I had no time to get to talk to them so I will have to do it some other time
If the diff was run low it is very likely that the gears got hot and now whine, i had a slight whine in my rear diff that went away when the diff was filled back up, I got lucky. if the whine is still present in the front diff most likely a shot bearing that is now messing up the backlash and the gears are in mesh wrong. Other possible grinding noises could be comming from the tcase it's self, possible chain stretch when in 4wd when you step off the gas the chain hits the inside of the case.
I had a grinding noise that only happened when I let off the gas in an '82... obviously before the center axle disconnect models. When I finally tore into it I found the shift fork had been worn through by a thrust washer, and was allowing the low range planetaries to hit a nother piece. When I drained the fluid before hand, I had only bit particles since I tore it appart before the xfer case grenaded.... just some food for thought.
As far as the front end goes... the newer F-150's use a center axle disconnect and not hubs. Why point that out? I've been hearing more about the front diff being the source of many people's drivetain problems. As an owner of one of these newer trucks, I'm very interested in seeing how the problem is fixed. Keep posting.
I really dont wanna bring my truck to a shop they charge way to much.but the grinding sound that i hear while im in 4x4 is gettting worse so i may have too.
