what goes over the the hole in the intake piping to the turbo when this is done? i understand that the vent is just rerouted the the rear of the vehicle somewhere. any pics if this? What sre the advantages of doing this?
i used a little of the 4" stainless exhaust i had left when i did the upgrade, you just replace that plastic housing with a piece of 4" stainless the same length.
I didn't keep any 4" stainless when I was done changing my exhaust. What I used instead is a female connection collar for 3" PVC pipe which gives you a 4" outside diameter and an inside diameter that matches the OEM connector. I hope this helps.
Originally posted by HeatStroked Curious, when you vent the crankcase emissions through the hose, pipe whatever, where do you vent it?
If it vents through a hose down to the rear or back of the PSD, doesn't it leak oil, etc. onto your driveway or garage floor?
I just don't want to spend a few days a week cleaning up oil drippins form the driveway.
i have had mine for about 2 weeks and no leaks. i would think that housing on the valve cover would condence most of the oil in it so it would drip back into the motor, i also ran the vent house up and over the mastercylinder to give the oil even more time to collect in the hose and fall back in to that housing. i ran the vent to a hole in the frame between the front and rear doors and pointed it straight down. it does put out a good amount smoke and you can see it if you look at it. i have been thinking about welding a fitting into the exhaust pipe and pulgging it in there to vent it with the exhaust
wlihntr is all over it. It's a vent line, so there is not much oil in it anyways and running it over the master cylinder generally takes care of the little bit that does escape.
The draft tube on some t444e's does put a little oil on the ground, but it is a short tube pointed straight down the back of the block.
With 10 or so feet of hose running down the frame I've yet to put a drop on the ground in two plus years.
