I bought my 99 f-350 crew 4x4 in July 98,It now has 57,000 miles and suffered from a rattle noise when I start it from the first day.Now that Ford has reconized the problem(piston slap),Do you think they will replace it even though it's out of warranty.I also suffer from sqeaky front springs ,hub that rattles dome light that stays on.It's nice to know that I am not the only one that has these problems(other posts)thanks for input. 99f-350 crewcab 4x4 v10 oxfordwhite

 

You are pretty far out of warranty. Ford has issued a TSB on piston slap that covers the Triton engine family (4.6, 5.4, 6.8) If you find the right dealer and beg... lol... then maybe it'll happen. Maybe even offer to pay for part of it. I had almost 46K on mine when it was replaced but I had reported it at 26K. It just took 10 months to get me an engine. Good luck.

 

For the dome light. Spray your door latches with WD40. I had the same problem and this fixed it.
