I got a 97 EFI 460 with all the factory Accesories. I'm putting into a 78 F250. I just bolted the tranny/tcase in. The Power steering Bracket hits the Power steering Gear Box. That's an easy fix. The power steering Pulley Also hits the Power steering Gear Box. Well i've read every article i could find on FTE and i've NEVER heard of this before.
So a couple of questions
1. Has anybody had this problem? If so what did you do?
2. Does anybody make an OVERDRIVE pulley for the power steering pump. In otherwords a Smaller pulley for the Power steering pump. I've seen larger but what about smaller?
3. Any body got any other sugguestions besides get all the accesories off an older 460?
To keep from brakeing motor mounts the engine should fully rest on the mounts. and to off set the engine semi easily would mean the mounts not fully resting on the frame.
I am in the process of doing the same thing, not as far as you. How much room do you need? If it isn't much can you put a spacer between the gear box and frame and the move the pitman arm to compensate for this. Is the arm keyed? Just an idea.
There is a guy that has done this and has some pictures on the swap I will try to find his site and let you know. He was using a serpentine belt. Maybe you could e-mail him. He has some good pictures and it looks nice in the truck.
What motor mouts are you using? Most of them allow for enough clearence. Is your trans mout stock? You might add a shim between the mounts and towers this will raise the front of the engine and should give you clearence.

I have one. It WILL NOT work with stock brackets. I know a guy who is working on the fix. He is building a complete serpentine bracket setup that will allow for the change-over of the 460 into the early truck. When I did it I used 78 brackets and modified them. I plan to put the serp. kit on when the guy gets them done. I will get more info and post it.
