I found a 429 in my barn today. The casting number on the head is D3VE-A2A I think, it was hard to read, might of been D8VE I number on the block is DIVE-A2B I think, also hard to read. I was curious what I have here, thanks.
its a 429, i am positive. The pistons have 429 stamped on the side and my dad checked the crank today, it is a 429 he aquired just before i was born. I guess kids cost alot of money.....too bad, he had good plans for that motor, mine now.
dont get me wrong i use d3's on my own motor and if someone knows what they are doing they flow very well indeed but as is factory standard they are obviously not the best.
I assumed it was a 460 only becuase they are more common, since you actually have it apart i dont doubt it is a 429.
Well...I did some measuring with the mic and it looks like the block is 30 over and those are the matching pistions...I also thought it was odd it was stamped right on the skirt. I also learned this was aquired from a man that was going to put it back together and gave up and gave it to my father a few years back.
