Gauge info desired

I'm putting either a two or three pod instrument panel on the drivers pillar. I'm interested in knowing more specifically what my water temp, tranny temp, and oil pressure are.

Is it better to use electrical or mechanical gauges? If electrical, has anyone mated these up with the existing temp/pressure sensors/senders? If mechanical, what means is used for sensor placement?

Any and all info appreciated.

First off, it's my understanding that Ford uses a pressure-operated SWITCH, rather than a variable resistance, to feed the dash oil gage. If that's so, you'll need to buy an aftermarket pressure transducer to feed the new oil pressure gage. And, you'd be well advised to get electrical gages, and not the mechanical type, because one little oil leak from the tubing connected to your gage would surely spoil your day!

Your local Ford dealership can answer your questions on tranny and coolant temps.

Hope this helps you.
