I just got a 01 Ranger Ext Cab. 3.0L 2wd last week. I love my truck. I am only 17 and this is my first truck and i am looking for some good performance parts. I already put a FIPK on and I can notice a little power. I want a new exaust to go along with it. I was looking at either a Magna flow or a gibson. The magna flow costs more and i was wondering if there was a power difference.
Welcome to FTE Franchise, and congrats on the new truck!
I'm kinda partial to Flowmaster. But most people around this forum seem to go with the Gibson over the Magna Flow. If there is a power difference between the two, it's nothing that would be noticeable or even measureable. Good luck with the truck.
maticuno- do you know how the flowmaster 40 series sounds? i've heard some people that say they have flowmasters, and it sounds almost stock, then when they take off you can hear it. I want somthing that gives a nice rumble while idleing and sounds nasty when you take off.
WHAAA...... dont go flowmaster MAGNAFLOW MAGNAFLOW MAGNAFLOW your young you should know MAGNAFLOW u want the sound right u want the feel of more power right MAGNAFLOW MAN
I installed gibson single muffler with rear exit dual pipes with chrome tips. I noticed the difference in power and less backpressure on first ride. I also put on airforce air system and mass airflow sensor. The gibson has a good sound, not too loud but not whimpy either. My son installed flowmaster exhaust on his ford truck. The flowaster system is louder outside and inside cab. I prefer the gibson because it quiets down on the highway and is easier on the ears. good luck super g 2003 fx4
My Flowmaster 40 series with the 2.5 Cat-back sounds very sweet on hard acceleration. At idle it has a nice soft low rumble. One of these days I'm going to figure out how to record the sound and put it on the internet so someone can listen to it. Also, most of my in-cab noise comes from my conical filter.
