Just got my Motive R&P for my truck. I ordered this from a store in Canada, because I bought the truck there and shipped it from there to Iceland.
I didnt specify any particular brand (should have done so) bot did specify this was for a 2004 F250 4x4. Sterling 10.50 and Dana 60 front.
Well, now that I got the R&P it turns out that for the rear axle its 10.25. (Motive F10.25-489L) gear ratio 4.89 but gear ratio for Dana 60 front is 4.88. (Motive D60-488XF)
So question to you gurus. Is it ok to use those together, i.e. 4.88/4.89.
Yes I belive youre right, but always better to be sure. A car mechanic is going to install this for me, so the installation should be ok. He also has a truck him self and is use to install those.

How much weeker is 10.25 compared to 10.50.
I thought after 98 rear ends came w/ a corporate 10.5" and not the sterling 10.25". I had the same question about Motive 4.89 when I was ordering gears too for my Dana 50 and 10.5". And the guy said that there would be no difference. But I'm like you. I wanted the exact same ratio. I don't know whats up w/ your Dana 60 but the application chart from Drivetrain SuperStores only lists 4.88's for it. While the 10.5" lists only 4.89's. I do like the Motive name brand though. Hope it helped some! Best of luck.
