a few days ago i reversed out of my driveway made a complete stop put it in drive and pressed the gas pedal, it didnt move for a second then it jerked real hard and started to move. i immediately noticed a loss in power in all forward gears with od on or off. i can floor the pedal and my truck wont respond. when im at a stop then floor the pedal my truck will die out most of the time, and the others it will just act like its running out of gas. when in park or reverse i can do the same thing and it will respond perfect.
my dad and i dropped the pan and changed the fluid and filter, didnt help. the old fluid was pretty clean with no metal at all, valve body bolts were tight. put a snap on scanner on it and all o2 sensors came back with codes as well as all shift solenoids.
well if the shift selonoids are coming back with codes, time to replace. I would get a chiltons manual and check the TPS sensor, but if you are getting codes on the selonoids, go to a junkyard and see if you can get them off a trashed explorer. Make sure it has a 4.0, i think they are a little pricy new.
I would check the fuses in the distribution box under the hood. The O2 sensors are heated and the tranny solenoids are all bussed to a common 12V. Real failures usually only happen one at a time. This sounds like you lost 12V power somewhere.
