I know this might be a silly question but....does anyone now of a kit or how to change the door windows of my 79' f100 from a wing type wind deflector to a one piece unit. i have seen kits for chevy's. any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
Hello & Welcome to FTE!
I don't have time to run through it right now so,
Maybe do a search for *Door Window Swap* or *Remove Vent window* using our search feature.
Someone should be along soon to help you out further.
Champion, if you do a search you'll find several past posts about this but right now there are no companys who make a one piece window kit for the 73-79 Ford trucks (California window kits as the VW guys call them). They are available for all of the older trucks because they had a flat piece of glass whereas our windows have a slight curve to them. I have checked some local glass companies and they say they can get the glass but then you have to try and figure out the seals and possibly modify the mechanism/track. It looked like it was going to become quite an expensive project so I dropped it.
I would like to see a company start producing those. I think it would be a popular item as people HATE the whistling wing windows.
