I have been experiencing the same problem with the clutch and transmission on my F250SD for 24,000 miles. It has been to the dealer 4 times to resolve the SAME issue and it still continues. The problem is that the clutch pedal when new and typically after each fix was very firm and had NO play in the travel. Then after driving from 500 to 4,000 miles it would go completly to the floor and stay until I pucked it up to where the return spring could pop it back up. After this would happen the pedal will have 1"-2" or free travel and the clutch would feel spongy. Sometimes this causes the transmission to be very difficult to shift as well. The dealer fixes have been to bleed the hydraulics, replace the whole hydraulic system, replace the entire clutch / pressure plate assy. and finally they tell me the excessive travel is "normal". Sorry I picked the truck up after a special order and it wan not this way when I got it and only does it after the pedal to the floor problem occurs so I don't think it's normal. Thanks for any info on this!

I have the same problem twice once at 32500 miles and now 40000 miles later. I have 15 letters going to ford. Hopefully something will be resolved. Ford Customer service (there a joke) said it was my problem. I thought that was stupid of them. This is a big problem. Sabrina
Has anyone had this problem on the 2000's? I ask b/c the 2001 I'm about to order is going to have a manual and I'm wondering if I should be prepared for the same thing.
