oil leak

oil leak
my son has a f-150 4x4 converted to a big foot... after bogging we have an oil (thick) leak under the truck. it appears to be coming from the front housing...one guy told us there was a hose missing...but we can not figure out where it would connect to...can you assist?

Do you mean the front Differential housing? if so what he is most likely talking about is the vent hose, without this, the oil might splash out, especially with hard driving i guess? It usually just goes up inside the frame and stops open there. Make sure to change the gear oil as well to get the mud and water out of there. Hope this helps.
