valve cover leaking

valve cover leaking

Just wondering if this is a frequent thing that happens. My passenger side vavle cover is leaking, soaking the starter and the the top of the motor. Truck is a 03 PSD with 30,000 km.

Check it out close, it may be something else leaking and wicking toward the valve cover.

I believe but i am not for sure that Ford now uses RTV instead of a gasket on their valve covers because it is cheaper and quicker (they do this in the small engines) and they have been having problems with the covers leaking. Just go buy so rtv and make a gasket as far as I know
