CB Radio

Hey everyone. I have a question about wiring a CB into my pickup. I cannot figure out where I can get a hot wire going to it, besides running a wire with a fuse in it all the way from the battery. I have looked at the fuse box and cannot see anywhere to connect accesories to. I thought of connecting it to the radio wire, but I have did that in the past and it burned out fuses, so it needs a stronger current. Any advice would be appreciated.

You could check in the audio forum as well.

I've installed at least 30 CB's & I swear by usinga pice of Coax for power & ground which I of course run it right from the radio directky to the battery cable side of the starter relay.

Why?
Advantages:
Because coax is shielded wire and will negate practically all electrical interference & you can talk without the engine running.

Thanks. I think that I will probably end up running a wire to the battery terminal. I have a long, heavy piece of wire that I used to wire an amp in, so I might use it and get power that way.

i just used a female wire end, and slid it onto one of the open fuse plug thingies and grounded the other wire to a preexisting bolt with a "fork" style wire end. anyway, just get an assortment of those things and something should slide right into place on an open fuse plug.

I,ll have to look at the fuse box and my Haynes repair manual nad figure something out. i would really prefer that it shuts off when the key is off, but I can live without that. Thanks.
