Thumbs up Ft Worth event TOMORROW !

Anyone in the DFW area interested in this tomorrow:

I'll be there in the moring...

a quasi rally at Texas Motors Ford in Ft Worth on Saturday, March 20th, 2004.
Powerstroke and Texas Motors are putting on a Powerstroke open house with an informational trailer and cutaways of the six liter engine.

Choctaw Bob - come on out !
or pass by the house and we'll run out there together !

I got my daughter and grandson here from Oregon. I've got to play grandpa.

I installed the oil pressure gage. 80 pounds cold idle. Seems like a lot. Old Cat track layers wouldn't move the gage until spun up a little. No way the 7 pound idiot light would ever go off.

Being Pappy is MUCH more fun...
We went out to eat with them tonight and it's AMAZing the difference one WEEK makes @ 15 months
Just tried something today I didn't even try out at the drags...

held the brakes and let the boost build just to see how far would be right for my launch next time....
well, even standing on the brakes @ about 2300 the rear tires started to break loose - a LOT ! let off the throttle since it started going sideways and let off the brakes and the boost kept me sliding so I had to yaw the wheel to keep it straight !!!!

Wow... had no idea it would do that much....
I mean I launch hard a lot,
but always figured the 8K lbs would keep it planted....
only built the boost when we were out at the track....
I got the feeling I could smoke them as long as I wanted
(if I wanted new tires really quickly !)

But now I have to try that same thing in 4x4 to see...
but I was too pumped after that to try it then... would have had to go straight to Discount Tire

Next time we go to the drags I can act like one of the trick dragsters and burnout !!!
That should make for some fan fun !!!!

Hey Bob.... did u know out at Redline they have a low power radio station you can listen to to get the announcments and times without havng to go get your slip ????
The guy in the red supercharged Pontiac told me that when he was asking what all was in the beast

That is what I did on my first run at Red Line. I smoked the tires the whole track! You can do a burnout that way but heating your tires is bad for traction with street tires.
I didn't know about the radio station.
I am concerned about my oil pressure. The new gage shows more than 100 pounds (off the scale at 100). The Bible says the pressure relief should be 75 pounds. I may have to take it in next week.

OH NO !!!
that means you'll have to drive it STOCK (sans predator) for a bit !
can u stand that ?!?!

and yes, know about heating the tires... but it would be way cool for a 4 wheel burnout :-)
