i just thought i would share a thought with yall bout this subject. a friend of mine was on the beach near houston texas on wendsday march 17 2004 where he was hit by i drunk driver. The drunk driver was doing about 40 mph when he slammed into my friends 1964 Ford F-100. My friend and his passenger were both thrown foreward the passenger struck the thick glass window with her head and shaddered it. The truck is now totaled sitting in a lot on crystal beach. My friend and his passenger were sent to UTMB in an ambulance where they later left with only scratches. That drunk driver totaled my friends first truck. This was the closest to tears i have ever seen him.
just thought i would share a thought about that with yall.
Glad to hear that your friends are ok. That is one of the drawbacks from driving these classics, they are only worth about $300.00 in insurance land when wrecked.
prettey sad story and thats what stinks about those trucks you put a lot of work, time and love into you truck and some stupid drunk idiot destrys your project, God that would make me mad.
I too am glad to hear your friends are ok.Unfortunately, drunk drivers usually end up doing as much damage to the hopes and dreams of the victims as they do in physical damage. We ourselves are quite aware of how much time we spend just sitting and thinking of what our plans are for our trucks. To have a careless person come along and ruin it all is heartbreaking I'm sure. The sad part is,the offenders are usually given a slap on the hand and sent on their way.I hope you friend is able to get enough money from the accident to at least get another truck to replace the damaged one.
this week a trial ended here in Asheville NC. A truck driver on cocaine was on trial for driving his speeding big rig down thru the Gorge I40 in such a reckless manner he lost control & careened into a young State Trooper named Anthony Cogsdale & the vehicle he had stopped for speeding. Officer Cogsdale was killed instantly. This irresponsible driver was given a sentence by the jury of 45 days instead of the 2nd degree murder charge the prosecution was trying for . His defense lawyers used the excuse he suffered from sleep apnea (which i don't believe for a New York minute) & got him off easy. The saddest part is the young officer's cute little yellow haired 3 year old boy lost his father.
