I need help. due to recent changes in the emissions testing in my home state i am required to show proof that my vehical does not come equiped with a cataylitic converter. it is a 1978 bronco ranger with a 351M early model year vehical. it has a sticker on the valve cover that states non-catylist. ford moco has not been helpful any help here would be appreciated.
Why should you have to prove anything? None of the 78 Bronco's came with a catalitic converter, that all started in 79. I would tell the emission testing people to look it up themselves.
At least here the emission testing people have a book that covers all the emission equipment (or lack of) for every model and year.
the state is pennsylvania rear gears unsure (original) automatic trans. only emissions I can see are an EGR, PCV, and valves for vac advance on dist. no coffee can ,smog pump, or charcoal can. but i need written proof to get exhuast work done to pass to emissions test. Ford claims their records dont go that far back. i think it maybe that someone there is to lazy to walk from their computer and look in a filing cabinet ( what is a filing cabinet ?) you know the thing that information was stored in before computers.
