I have a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L V6 that I just put a 4in suspension lift on to. Now I'm looking for extended front brake hoses for it. Once again I ran into the typical results. Seems I cant find anybody that carries em! I have tried all the big places, Superlift, SkyJacker, Summit, even tried JCWhitney. Still no luck. I also went and picked up every 4 wheel magazine I could get my hands onto, and searched the ads. Still nothing.
I would like to go with steel braided hoses, but will settle for just plain old rubber ones if that what can be found.
Thanks, I will give it a shot. I think that may be the one of the few places locally that I havnt tried yet. I've already tried autozone, advanced, and pepboys. But it does figure that napa is the only parts place that closes at 5:30 pm.
I had a heck of a time finding longer ones for my 78. Autozone has a large asortment of hoses and all the brass fittings you need to make something up. You just have ask them to find a hose long enough. Some guys there don't like to do it that way though.
What I ended up doing on my 78 was making a drop bracket to lower the hose. The rubber hose used to meet the metal line through a hole in the bottom of the frame rail. I just put on a longer metal line and the bracket and now I can use stock length hoses.
Looks like that may be the way I have to go on mine. I'm going to spend today running around checking out places that make hydraulic hoses, and see if they can rig me something up.

5 reasons (3 sir).
1) I'm cheap.
2) I'm impatient
3) I have more time than money.
If this were a daily driver, I'd probably go with the big guys. But since I only use it for mud I figured why spend the money. Also, it's a lot more fun to fab stuff up from junk lying around the garage.
BAH! Just discovered the "Off Road" shops/centers around here are not worth a crap! If its not carryed by SkyJacker or Superlift, they dont know what to do. Looks like its time to start checking out the hydraulic hase fabricators.
The search continues...... and the frustration level grows
You would think somebody would carry these. Its not as if I have a rare model or anything. Just last week I counted how many rangers I saw driving around town in one day. 247! With this many around....... Any way, I'm done venting for now.
