clutch questions
Ive heard that these require a different flywheel in the 5 speeds from 1995-7. Is it true? Ive read that the dual mass is better. Also how much power and torque can the stock clutch hold in a 1995 or so? Thanks

The stock clutch is good for about 400 lbs torque I believe. As far as the DMF(dual mass flywheel), I think it is a little smoother than a solid flywheel but not nearly as reliable. I just replaced my clutch with a Valeo solid flywheel and clutch. The clutch is an upgrade from 12 to 13"and has a higher torque capacity allthough I don't know the specs. The main factor in my decision was that a new DMF from ford was 1200 bucks compared to 650$ for the whole solid flywheel and clutch kit.

I have to disagree with the part about the DMFW being better,I went through 3 of them before 90K miles (all covered by the warranty) and my truck is bone stock.The original was replaced at 30K,the 2nd was replaced at 60K and at about 90K I had a Luk setup installed.The only advantage the DMFW has over the Luk is that it was a lot quieter.
