I've got a 1994 F150 5-speed, with no tach. I'm wondering what it would take to add one to the dash, roughly how much $, where I can get the parts, how much work it is, etc.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you wanting an original stock tach or a aftermarket tach?
If you go the stock tach route all that you have to do is find a instrument cluster from that model year of truck that had a tach & just swap them out.
You already have the wiring & connectors in the dash to hook up a stock cluster with a tach.
I'm can't tell you how to do a aftermarket tach, perhaps someone else will be able to tell you. Or you can buy the tach & it should have instructions how to hook it up.
i put an aftermarket tach in my 95 5spd. thers pictures in my gallery. its easy installs in about a half an hour. i picked mine up from pepboys for like 50 bucks i think. it attachs to the negative terminal of the ignition coil the headlight wire, so it lights up when i turn my lights on, and i think power and ground. if u decide to go this route post ill keep checkin lemme kno if u need help
