Cheapest Rims New for Changeover

My 1965 truck had original 16" split rims and would like to find some rims that are interchangeable that are 16". What is the best route to take on this. I would love to find some I could mount the stainless center caps that I have in but If I can't I just can't.

Again I want to changeover from split rims to single rims. Must be 16" also my truck is an f250 camper special.

check with your local used tire place or junk yard. Ford made several different sizes of rims with the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. They go from 14" all the way to 16.5". Hope this helps.

I used a '93 Ford wheel, 16x7. It will not accept the original hubcap. I searched for a one-piece wheel that would, and concluded that only a custom wheel made from an old centre and later rim will allow that.
If you use this size wheel, be careful with tire diameter. Because of the different offset, the 235-85 tire is pretty close to the fender.

what is the offset on a 93 truck rim, versus older rims of the eighties are they the same offset. I would like to get as close as I could when it comes to offesets. Did you use a stock type 93 wheel or was it a fancy aluminum wheel. Let me know and if you were to buy stock wheels where would you buy them from and at what price.

The wheel I used was the standard 3/4 ton steel wheel of the period. The 16x7 is grey; the earlier 16x6 is argent. I am not sure about the offset, but the '93 wheel is 1.5" wider than the '66 and it seems that all of that extra width is on the outside.
I got two from the scrap pile behind a Ford dealer, checked them for runout and used them; the others I got at a wrecker for $40/pr.
If you find some that weren't used with a wheel cover they'll need very little prep before painting.
