I havn't seen anyone with this same window problem... Just bought a 95 Bronco and the rear window will only go down 1-2 inches then stops. I tried loosening everything up with liquid wrench and lithium grease, but no luck, might go down a little bit further now, but not much. Please help!!!!!!! Thanks!
My 93 was doing about the same thing. It turned out one of the felt / rubber U shaped guides inside the tailgate had torn a bit and as the window slid down the felt turned under and created a binding point for the window to hang on. I managed to use a box knife to trim the felt slightly and free up the window. Also used some silicon oil to lubricate the guides.
Well, I worked on it again today and now its stuck down...I checked the guides and did not find any problems...I sprayed everything with liquid wrench again and then pushed the window down while someone pressed the button. After several atempts and many creeks and moans it got almost all the way down, but not far enough for me to get the tailgate open. Now the motor doesn't sound like it it operating at all. Should I take it to the Ford dealer or does anyone have any other suggestions?
mine does the same thing, i took the panel off on the inside of the truck and moved the guides to allow the window to come down. my problem is the rubber on the guides is shot so the window gets hung up on them... i am just lazy and the truck isn't worth putting money into
its either the motor is defective or is wearing out. Or something has put it in a bind. Mine had the same problem but it turned out that i had knocked a cable or wire or something out of place when i replaced the window motor and the glass was catching on this. Maybe look on the motor and see if one of the gears is cracked off. Probably not but just a thought.
