Has anyone out there ever swoped a standard to automatic in a f1504x4?I'm going to do it this weekened, and I think I have got most stuff ,but you know how it is.I'm sure there will be stuff I overlooked.I have accuirred the c-6 4x4 tranny with the correct bellhousing pattern,I have searched and found out the transfercase is the same and will bolt right to the tranny.I have accuired the proper crossmenber, and a automatic steering columm.Oh ya and the floor pan with only the 4x4 shift hole in it.Anyone know of other stuff I would run into? Please help.I'd much rather be 100% prepared.
Well Do you have a trans cooler or radiator with the cooler in it? Cooler Lines? Do you have the right torque converter? Do you have the Automatic Brake pedel? Do you have the Automatic adaptor for the transfercase? The auto is aluminum and the Standard is Steel. (I may be wrong on that) Do you have the thin Spacer that goes inbetween the transmission and Bell Housing? They are different. Do you have the kickdown and lever on the carb? Im sure I missed alot But anyway Good luck on the project.
Don't forget the flywheel/flex plate.
Tranny mount is probably different to.
What about the length of the two trannies? Are they the same? is the drive shaft yoke the same?
Have Fun,

I'm pretty sure I will have to lenghten or shorten the shafts ,but I not to concerned about that. That's pretty cheap.I'm more concerned about stuff like speedo cable and stuff that I can't buy but need. Not to many trucks that vintage left in the junk yards around here.I have the flexplate and flywheel already. My radiator is a auto with plugs in it right now,so how about 4x4 linkages. Can I use the standard ones? Will they go around the auto or were they diffrent on the auto's?
