I have a 2000 model F250 superduty lariat with the power stroke engine. The truck currently has the stock power mirrors. I am wanting to upgrade to the power extendable OEM mirrors from ford. Does anyone have an estimate of how much these mirrors cost. Or a place I could order them from besides ford. Or if anyone is interested in trading or selling their set.
Tracy,I just replaced my standard mirrors with large telescoping type. I could not find these anywhere else but Ford. Ford sells a conversion Kit which contains two mirrors for appx. $300 wholesale. This Kit was on backorder until the end of Sept. I was able to get the mirrors individually for $370 wholesale which included 13% for rush deliver. They were a direct bolt on. 10 min per door. You have to remove the door panel. One screw behind the red door light lens cover and one under the window and door lock panel. Then lift the door panel up and out.
You might be able to talk your dealer into putting the mirrors on a wholesale acct. if you pay for themirrors and tax in advance.
So there's no confusion, the mirrors do not retract or extend electrically. The only power part is adjusting the large mirror section.
Having had both types, I can tell you that the new mirrors are a must. I love being able to push them in when not towing for better clearance and so I don't look like Dumbo the elephant going down the road. When towing, they pull out further than the old ones for good rear viewing. The other great part of the new mirrors is that the lower wide-angle section is now manually adjustable. The old mirror had the wide-angle section glued in at a useless angle on the drivers side.
I have a set off of my '01 F350, because I acidentally ordered them, but switched to the smaller ones the day after I got my truck.. These mirrors are in perfect condition, and I'd be willing to part with them for $250, and I'll ship them if some one is interested.. dubbers@brawleyonline.com
