I have KYBs on my 94 Bronco and they are very stiff. After reading this thread, I now know it's not my imagination. When I hit a bump, the whole truck shakes, but I don't loose control!!! The truck came with Monroe Magnums that were very mushy. I noticed that when driving over road construction and my steering wheel was taking a beating. When I removed the Monroes, I could compress them with very little effort. The KYBs, on the other hand, are impossible to compress by hand!! Now I'm looking for shocks that offer a little of both, handling and nice ride. Do they make such an animal??
I forgot to ask this question... since I have KYBs on all four corners, could the front shocks be replaced with a less stiff shock and leave the KYBs in the rear?? Or should the front and the rear have the same shock installed??
I like the ride of my Sensatracs, but 3 of 6 have already broken in street use in a year. They are built kind of cheezy in my opinion. Bushings died on one front, another front is leaking oil and the shroud weld snapped on a rear.
