Explorer to Bronco engine swap
Hi
im new to this website and i was hoping someone could help me. i have an '89 5sp bronco II and i need to replace the transmission. while looking for a new transmission to put in, i decided that i dont like my engine either (the 2.9 almost left me stuck in tahoe with its lack of horsepower.) i read somewhere about a guy swapping his 88 bronco ii motor for an 4.0 V6 out of a 92 explorer. can anyone tell me what the best engine would be to swap in and how hard will it be? any major setbacks that i will run into?
