Ok i have gotton the three panels off necessary to put in both right speakers and the front left speaker. The back left panel in my 97 F-150(3rd door on the passenger side, no 4th door) just wont come off. Its loose and i have gotten all the buttons that hold the panel on out. It moves arround but it seems to be stuck on something. does anyone know how to get it off so i can install the 4th speaker?
you have all screws removed, all plastic "pop rivets" free from the frame? Then take a long flat head screw driver and gently, GENTLY fish around in there, and pry where you think it is stuck, this is how my uncle's custom shop does it, and he has yet to break a panel
If it's the passenger side, you also have to take off the two screws holding the wing window latch in place. Then you left the panel up as it has several "claws" holding the panel to the door frame. If it's the driver's side, more work is involved. I ended up having to take the back seat off of the wall and remove the pop rivets from behind it. I have the '97 tech manual on CD which will walk you through everything, e-mail me and I will be happy to send you a copy of it or help in any other way I can.
