Ive posted this topic before but I am having terrible front end noise in my 2002 Escape. I realize it could be the tires and little noise barriers but could it be wheel bearing? It has a humm between 25 and 40 mph. It get louder as the truck warms up.any help would be appreciated
Uhmm, hello! WHEEL BEARING ISSUES! It is in a TSB. Helicopter type noise coming from front area. IT IS NOT your tires. I had BOTH front wheel bearings go on my 2004 Escape Limited at 2303 miles.
I've seen a few people with wheel bearings going out at low mileage. I've got close to 60k miles without any problems. It does seem odd that some are going out that soon.
I had a front end noise in my 2003 Escape. Sounded just like a stone jammed in the calliper. Took to dealer...no rock....changed berrings....no change...changed brake pads.....changed roters.....still grinding.
They finally discovered the noise was from the tranny!!! only 1900km's !!!!!
Traced it back to the assembly plant and a worker had put a part on wrong for a whole shift. So if your Escape was made the same date as mine..........
Woks like a dream now...love the thing!!
Happy driving
