Well this isn't a garage post but had to ask you guys, especially those in arid climates, if you've ever seen this stuff.
A local landscaping supplier is has been carrying this pipe for about two years. It's basically a whole yard drip watering system. The pipe is perforated and lays on top of the ground, one foot apart, similar to the way you'd lay a heated flooring system. You then fill in topsoil between the lines and enough to cover and lay your sod. The guy claims you can just water for 10 minutes, water goes directly to the roots, no runoff, and no evaporation. He said they've been using the system in Arizona for years with great success. Costs just $32 for a 100' roll.
Sounds almost too good to be true but really makes sense if you think about it.
Anyone ever used this stuff??
When you get mud underneath the grass, and is seeps back into the holes in the pipe when the pressure is released, how do you get it out? After a while, the entire thing will be plugged up.
That's what I was thinking. Never heard of that kind of system but, then I live in the desert, my yard is desert, and that is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves ( people moving out here and bringing "back east" with them). Next thing you know, they'll be bringing their snow.
