which stall RPM for the 300
which stall RPM for the 300
which RPM stall converter should i get for my E4OD when i rebuild it? i know the 300 has a peak torque of 2000 and i read that id want a stall converter around 500 RPMs before peak torque. any ideas?
You aren't going to get much, if any, improvement over the stock converter because the torque peak of the engine is so low. Most of the time a stock stall speed works best until peak torque is made at or above about 3000 rpm. It should also be mentioned that the stall speed of your stock converter will increase as you add torque to your truck below the stall speed of the converter, so it will adjust itself to an extent.
