Stall speed

I was just looking at the spec's for the tranny on the 2001 5.4 with the 4R70W. It seems that the 4.2 and 4.6 have a higher stall speed than the 5.4. A different ratio. I think that the 5.4 would tow better with a 4.6 converter in it. Will the 4.6 converter bolt up to the 5.4 flywheel?
My converter seems kind tight. The 2000 F250 5.4 that we have at work stalls higher and gets into the peak torque range faster.

Has anybody driven both and seen the difference?
