hey guys....i want exhaust on my 351 real bad and was wondering what would the deepest most powerful sounding exhaust i could get.....im thinkgin just muffler to the tips...catback....and i was considering flowmaster 40 series with dual outlet and 4 inch tips....i went to the website and noticed 2 kinds....super40 and delta flow 40....does any one know which is louder and deeper? also i was just gonna put it on my self, can it be that hard? what do i need to do for that?
please help
The Delta Flo mufflers are much quieter than the others. My V8 Cougar has the Flowmaster cat-back system which comes with the Delta Flo's. My Bronco is running true duals, minus cats, with a regular 40 series on each side and it sounds completely obnoxious. It's a good thing.
The Delta Flow line is the quieter of the two. Is interior resonance an issue? Flowmasters are one of the worst when it comes to it. Most catbacks are relatively simple to install. An hour or two tops with simple hand tools. The hardest part of the install is getting the stock system off. I loved the deep rumble of the Bassani I had on my bronco. I can send you a clip of it if you want to hear it. I just tried to email it to you, but it seems that you dont want to be contacted through FTE.
I would think if you wanted the deepest and most powerful sound you should go with headers, a high-flow cat and a blank muffler with a big tip, or u could go dual blanks if desired. Everyone that I have seen that runs blank mufflers on their trucks are a WAY hell of a lot louder than anything else.
how would i got about getting the new exhaust on?......the only way i can tell is to weld, but i dont have that at my disposal....also a blank muffler?...how would i clear my current muffler out....cut it off then how do i clear it and how do i get it back on without welding?
Exhaust clamps. Clamp it all together. I dont know what this blank muffler is. Im assuming he means a straight pipe in place of a muffler (or a gutted glasspack).
I guess this is what you would buy or one similar.
It would probably be best to get a muffler shop to do it unless you had a welder, the proper tools and maybe some experience.

The link he provided is nothing more than a glasspack muffler. A cylindrical tube with fiberglass packing in it. Exhaust clamps are available at any NAPA, Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. When you mount youre new muffler, you would slide the input into youre Y pipe and clamp over it.
the blank muffler is a muffler which usually has glasspacks; the muffler consist of a tube that runs through the center of it.
