Help Please

I have a 1991 F-150 with the 4.9. I was having hesitation/stalling problems. So I decided to do a tune up. I replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires and on and on. When I replaced the ditributor cap I had some problems with the 2 screws, long story short the screws snapped off. In order to drill out the holes I had to remove the distributor completly. After that process while putting everything back together I get everything back the way it was, so I thought. Well now it time to try starting her. She fired right up and then stalled almost instantly. So tried her a second time. This time the battery sparked and arced. Now Im stuck with a dead battery and no clue where to start. Can anyone help?
