Another Pi ?

My truck has a 21 Jan. 04 date on the ECU/Computer. From what i've learned on hear my pilot injection seems to be still functional. My buddy (03 truck)just got his reflashed and it is much louder than mine. Mine is quiet until you just barely touch the pedal. So I assume it is functioning. My door sticker says 01/04 date. I wonder if there still leaving the PI on so there not so loud and they can sell easier.

I'm hoping it's new software but I DOUBT IT. Probably just a computer that is pulled off a shelf and thrown in with out any idea what the last software load was. I have to admit it sure runs nice though, never have seen the slightest amount of smoke even when cold. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the software installed on these trucks this late in the game. Thanks, Chris

I had PI upto the latest flash (B29.6) was released. Other than a day or two to get used to the louder idle, the truck runs better. I have no more surging right out of park. Seems quicker off hte line and my fuel mileage is also better. Since I'm in Florida, I doubt it winter to summer blend in diesel fuel.

My dealer flashes all new trucks BEFORE they put them on the lot for sale.
