X springs only denote the code for the front springs.
There is a spring chart here on FTE (search the Excursion forum) that I posted a year or so ago. It'll show your the nominal rise in height based on the engine you have.
I'm thinking about changing over to the "x" spring but since it's my wifes mobile it can't ride rough. So my question is how is the ride, and please be honest because I'll never live inside again if I mess up her new pride & joy.
Since it is your wife's ride, does she want different springs?
IMO, I would leave it alone, don't mess with the wifes stuff.
I wrapped my now ex's 2 day old Trans Am around a tree a few years ago.....her pride and joy...She will never ever let it go.
Better to not error, than even error on the safe side...
I have V codes on now and have X codes in the garage. I will be switching when the weather makes its mind up that its spring outside. My V codes are no more harsh than the D codes(factory). You will get almost 3 inches in height with them too. Are you switching out the rear or a 4 in block. I want to replace the rears too since i tow. Hoping to get rid of that little sqat when hitched up.

Monsta,
I'm unable to find the "spring code chart" can you help me out?
What's the going rate for the spring upgrades... $150 or so ?
my 03 4x4 with the 1/2 inch or so before the "Bounce" stops could use a little more room...

Pull your bump stops off and cut 1 1/4" off. That's roughly to the bottom of the second radius groove, and put them back on.
There is a post from 3/13/04 where OGNOM told me he did it a year or so ago with no problems. I went to the Glamis sand dunes area this weekend and the difference was very noticeable.
I think that with this modification and a set of Bilstein shocks, I can forget about a lift kit for my application.
