89 bronc 91 150 front shock set-up

OK, I have my 91 150 4x4, and just bought a friends 89 bronc for parts.
I was looking at the front suspension as I am parting out the bronc anda firned needs most of the front suspnsion after a bearing collapsed on the highway. ANYWAYS....
The 91 only has the one shock behind the frint axle I think
Whereas the Bronc has two, one in front and one behind the front axle.
Was this factory?
Was this a differance between ALL broncs and ALL 150s?
Was this a change that happened between these years?
What was the advantage to the 2 shock set up?
Can it be changed over to the 150 with the Broncs parts?
SHOULD I change it?

I am not sure if this was a factory option or not although I think it was! Best way to tell is if the shock mount/bracket is bolted on then it is aftermarket.....other wise the factory will rivet all brackets to the frame rather than bolt it (they like to challenge us!)

The 2 shock setup is more for looks than anything unless you are running like 50" tall tires. they just divide the load b/t the 2 shocks equally!

Pretty much all F-150 and Bronco Equipment are interchangable. They use the same platform just a different body style!

if you want the look of 2 shocks then change it otherwise it really won't do much for you!
