Look in the black wrapped wires that hooks up to the starter relay.
Follow it to at least the firewall.
Inside this wrapping you will probably find burnt fusible link wire.
It is supposed to do this > to protect the truck from catching fire.
Dennis,
I found the burnt fuseable link...now I can't get a spark, it won't start. I have power now lights and ignition, but it sounds like there is spark being delivered. Any more ideas?
Now you have to check for power at the coil + terminal with the key on.
The truck is supposed to receive 12 volts at start-up then reduce to 8-10 volts for regular ignition.
I had the illustration of the starting system for you to trouble-shoot different spots.
I think you are going to have to be slow & thorough in figuring out the problem is.
Write up a check list as you test circuitx.
Is there Spark at:
plugs,Plug wires,Distributor cap,rotor,module inside cap,wiring to module from distributor
Did you Get the module tested at parts store?
Ignition switch: check key on powered circuits (especially the run circuit)This is where I think the problem is,possibly the harness from battery.
