Tow in O/D

What is the consensus on towing 6k trailer in O/D? Some say it is ok and the trans runs cooler if it does not hunt on level road. What is Fords thinking on this? TIA! TJ

Read your owners manual. It says you can tow in Od if the tranny doesn't hunt

i use o/d in my 00 PSD, never had a problem yet. I turn off the o/d if it is hunting though.

Same hear, only use OD when smooth sailing. I have a rule of thumb, just like a manuel shift, if you need another gear, grab it before it grabs you. He He He
